The event no crisp lover will want to miss is back in 2025

In 2024, the greatest homage to crisp consumption was created with the inaugural Huddersfield International Crisp Festival staged at The Sportsman Beerhouse. It’s fair to say it went viral; TV, radio, magazines, and of course, it was an internet sensation. (See all the details here).

It was so successful that it’s back for 2025 on 10 – 19 October, and it’s going to be even bigger. Last year, we sold over 1500 bags of crisps over the course of the festival and the beer/wine and crisp pairing events sold out. This year we have lots more in store.

What you can expect from HIC-Fest 2

Of course, we will once more be sourcing the most weird and wonderful crisps from around the world with plenty of new ones to try, as well as some of last year’s favourites. We’ll also be running some delicious pairing events again.

But we won’t be stopping there. John Fletcher, Manager of The Sportsman, Founder of HIC-Fest, and self-titled King of Crisps, has barely thought of anything else since the last one, so he has LOTS of ideas.

How do you like the sound of a Hottest Crisp Challenge, a Best in Show competition, and a Bottomless Crunch event? We’ve even got a fringe event, celebrating non-potato-based snacks at The Sportsman’s sister pub, The County (think wacky snacks and crazy beers for that one).

Word on the street is, there may even be merch 😲…
