We have a fine selection of beers over the Bluesbury weekend running 13-15 September, curated by The West Riding’s cellar manager, Jim Ibeson. We have a starting 10 on the Main Bar with round 2 following as the first 10 run off. Festival Bar beers will be available all weekend. Enjoy!

MAIN BAR – FIRST UP

(Starting line-up on the main bar)

1. REDWILLOW – Very English IPA 5.3% (IPA)

Brewed with Chevallier, Maris Otter and Crystal malts and hopped extensively with Goldings and Target. This celebration of the very best English Hops and Malts is burnt orange in colour with layers of pithy orange and sweet marmalade finishing with a robust bitterness.

2. ARBOR – You May Say I’m A Dreamer 4.6% (Juicy Amber Ale)

What happens if you take Sabro, Mosaic and Citra hops, then combine them with golden oats and a little crystal malt? Well, this lovely, juicy amber ale is what and as always with Arbor, it’s absolutely delicious.

3. THE KERNEL – Small Pale Ale (Cascade) 4.3% (Pale)

A simple malt base to showcase the ever-changing hops; but with less bitterness – and alcohol – than our pale ales. We’ve also added some oats in there too so you can expect a beer that is smooth, bright and easy drinking. This time brewed with Cascade hops.

4. SIREN CRAFT BREW – Mesmerist 3.4% (Pale)

Mesmerist delivers punchy hop aromas and satisfyingly delicious depth of flavour, all the while drinking with a softness and structure.

5. TWO BY TWO – Session IPA 4.0% (Hazy Pale)

Extra pale malt base, light and zesty. Tropical aroma with late additions of Equinox hops. Citrus hops to the fore in this cleverly balanced hoppy ale with fruity sweetness. Hop bitterness persists in the finish.

6. PENTRICH – Soul Doughnut 5.0% (Caramel Custard Doughnut Milk Stout)

Inspired by everyone’s favourite high street bakery treat. Big, sweet caramel and custard flavours sing over the top of light bready notes and rich and warming toffee notes from the dark malts. Delicious.

7. HOWLING HOPS – Party Wave 4.5% (Pale) *Gluten Free*

A clean, bright and delicate modern West Coast Pale with all of the character and none of the gluten. Time to iron your dancing cagoule and join the party wave

8. GOOD CHEMISTRY – Bob’s Best 4.5% (Best Bitter)

Dark amber in colour and deliciously smooth and biscuity with a mild earthy aroma. Northdown and Progress hops add subtle spicy floral notes to this malty English bitter. 

9. OTHERWORLD – River Horse 4.8% (Hazy NZ IPA)

Our first cask IPA shows off New Zealand’s Nelson Sauvin hop with characteristic white wine notes, a bright lime flavour and hints of passionfruit. 

10. FERNANDES – Bluesbury 4.5% (Blueberry Stout)

Brewed especially for our us for our Bluesbury festival, in collaboration with our friends at Fernandes Brewery in Wakefield. A delicious, decadent full-bodied stout with the addition of blueberries.

MAIN BAR – ROUND 2

(These beers will replace the first 10 beers as and when they run-off)

1. BLACKJACK – Ruff Times 6.0% (IPA)

With Chinook, Cascade and Centennial this goes back to the old school, the true classic pairings. As you’d expect, the classic bitter line, the countering richer, fuller malt base and the resin, grass and citrus offering of the classical C hops.

2. THORNBRIDGE – Sequoia 4.5% (American Amber Ale)

Sequoia pours dark amber and exudes a beautiful citrus and pine aroma. Expect a smooth body with hints of roasted hazelnut and toffee malt flavours.

3. BURNING SKY – NZPA 4.5% (New Zealand Pale)

A thirst-quenching New Zealand pale ale for the end of summer. This beer is a one-off special and is Packed with Nelson Sauvin and Motueka hops.

4. AMPERSAND – Pightle 3.7% (DDH Pale)

A session strength pale ale focusing on the hop combination of Comet, Citra, Chinook & El Dorado with a double dose of dry hops for big tropical & grapefruit flavours.

5. BLACK IRIS x SHINY – Diamond Eyes 4.8% (Hazy Pale)

Hop-forward hazy cask pale. Chinook dominates the hot side additions before it’s joined on the cold side by Citra and Mosaic. Expect notes of tropical fruits, stone fruits with a little citrus note from the Chinook.

6. FELL – Cuppa Joe 4.8% (Coffee Milk Stout)

Nicely balanced coffee stout made in collaboration with Pennington’s Coffee in Kendal. A Delicious blend of coffee and plenty of lactose make this a very easy drinking stout.

7. TARTARUS – Cactus Cat 4.1% (Hazy Pale) *Gluten Free*

Hazy pale ale brewed with wheat & oats for a thick mouthfeel. Dry hopped with Citra & Mosaic for aromas & flavours of citrus, tropical fruits & hints of bubblegum. This beer is gluten free.

8. ALMASTY – Best Bitter 4.5% (Best Bitter)

A classic Best Bitter. Cedar and sweet treats combine beautifully in this easy drinking traditional Olde English Ale.

9. NORTH – Sputnik 5.0% (Hazy Pale)

Everyone’s favourite hazy-but-crisp pale ale. Light in colour and body with assertive piney bitterness and a fruity candy aroma.

10. LEFT HANDED GIANT – Dark Mild 3.4% (Dark Mild)

Every beer has a time and place and this Dark Mild with notes of; English hedgerow berries, smooth caramel and lightly roasted malt, with a rich mahogany hue, will be taking pride of place to see us through many cold evenings.

FESTIVAL BAR

(Available all weekend, subject to stock)

1. GOOD CHEMISTRY – Golden Age 4.7% (Golden Ale)

Traditional English golden ale with zesty, biscuity and berry notes. Perfectly balanced and easy drinking.

2. VOCATION x BOUNDARY – Hazy Pale 4.8% (Hazy Pale)

This cask exclusive is a crisp and juicy hazy pale ale. This brew highlights the vibrant flavours of Eclipse and Mosaic hops, with a vibrant burst of tropical fruits layered between ripe apricots and fresh peaches to deliver a crisp and refreshing experience. Collaboration with Boundary Brewing.

3. SHINDIGGER – Pale 4.5% (Pale)

Clean and crisp pale with a burst of orange from the lead hop Amarillo. West Coast Pale is our homage to the West Coast styles that dawned a new era in world brewing and inspired us to start brewing.

4. COURIER – Berating The Ceiling 4.0% (Pale)

Real back to basics stuff with a little twist. A nice mellow body of super pale, super straw yellow malt and a sprinkle of oats are here to show off HBC 586, a hop variety that brings sweet fruit guava and shredded ripe papaya tropical nonsense at it’s most sessionable.

5. BLACK LODGE – Baltic Best 4.2% (Best Bitter)

Sweet caramel notes coming through from the malts, balanced by a moderate hop bitterness giving a dry finish on the palate.

6. OTHERWORLD – Wilderness 3.8% (Hazy Pale)

A smooth and easy-going hazy pale ale fermented with kveik for a tropical base. Dry hopped with Mosaic and Motueka Kohia, a blend of Motueka and passionfruit for juicy classic hop flavour.

7. WYLAM – Soul 4.0% (pale)

Nectaron & Nelson Sauvin forge souls to muster this one-off CASK special… a sessionable 4.0% Pale Ale. A distinctive flavour profile that seductively balances traditional New Zealand hops to create a bright and light ale, with the finest Simpsons low-colour Golden Promise forming the base of this beer.

8. ALMASTY – Golden Ale 4.7% (Golden Ale)

Traditional style ale brewed with Norfolk’s floor malted finest Maris Otter No 19 barley. This produces a distinctive English malt sweetness and character that sets the perfect base for the hops. Challenger hops provide the noticeable but rounded bitterness with Olicana balancing the act giving tones of sweet fruits.

9. POMONA ISLAND – Pensamiento 4.5% (West Coast Pale)

Classic West Coast style Pale Ale from Manchester’s Pomona Island. Resinous and Piney with a lingering bitterness.

10. MARBLE Kalidasa 4.3% (Mango Pale Ale)

Our Mango Pale boasts a perfectly balanced profile. The subtle bitterness of premium hops harmonizes beautifully with the succulent mango flavours, creating a refreshing, fruit-forward brew that’s perfect for any occasion.
