Lots of great prizes up for grabs
The team at The County in Huddersfield are never ones to miss a party so were delighted to put their own spin on celebrations for this year’s Huddersfield Pride, which is taking place on 15th June. However, it’s not just about the party for them, they want to use it as an opportunity to raise lots of money for the pub’s nominated charity – RSPCA Halifax, Huddersfield & Bradford.
Roll up roll up, it’s The County Pride Tombola
Manager Amber is never shy about asking for ‘free stuff’ from suppliers and partners, so she’s been bending ears and calling in favours all over the place to secure some banging merch and prizes from friends of the pub. We’ve had donations from Timothy Taylor’s, Ossett Brewery, Rat Brewery, Salt Brewery, Hoult’s Wine Merchants, Little Critters Brewery, Phoenix Brewery and, of course, she’s used her influence here to bag Beerhouses and The Sportsman merch.

Amber spoke of the event:
“We raised around £1500 last year for our charity and we were only just finding our feet as a relatively new pub then. Now we’re more established, and winners of the Huddersfield CAMRA Pub of the Year award (had to mention that one!), we reckon we can raise even more for this amazing charity – and have lots of fun with Pride while we do it!”
Raffle tickets on sale from Saturday 1st June
There are lots of great prizes up for grabs (see The County’s socials for the latest donations) and you can buy tickets for £2 from 1st June, right up until the big Pride event on 15th June. There will be lots going on on the day as well (we did say they were party people!). There will be Pride-related films playing in the bar and beer garden from 4pm and Amber and the team will be making cocktails from the Stonewall Gin that’s been donated (and percentage of the price will go to the charity fund too). Later on, there will be a Pride Punk Party which should be great fun.
Lots of ways to join in the fun (and raise some funds for a fabulous charity).
