Stalybridge Buffet Bar
Step back in time & visit one of the very few remaining Victorian station buffet bars. A very special place that specialises in high quality cask & craft beer showcasing the very best brewers the UK has to offer. Dating from 1885 the Buffet Bar has retained the original marble-topped bar, back fittings and the welcoming fire.
It’s a veritable museum with photographs of the station in it’s heyday, railway and other memorabilia. This award-winning pub may look stunning and have plenty to see on the walls but don’t be distracted from the quality on offer at the bar including a fantastic craft & cask ale offering, real & craft cider as well as a great range of spirits. Food wise it’s just pork pies in the week from an award winning butchers and throughout the summer we feature Street Food vendors most Friday nights.
ON THE BAR
We have the best in craft beer, cask ale, lager and high quality cider all from independent brewers and suppliers many which rotate. We are the current area cider pub of the year and have a fantastic range to suit all tastes.

Saved by local entrepreneur John Hesketh, who had the Station pub in Ashton. The manager was then Sylvia Woods, who was fantastic both in the Station and Buffet Bar...
Why did it close ?
I am sure it was May 1996 when the Buffet Bar closed, reopening in January 1997.
