ABOUT EMMA WILSON

NEW ALBUM “Memphis Calling” OUT NOW

They are all asking – ‘where did she come from?.. By birth, the North East of England, the rest….

2022 was a big year with Emma winning “emerging blues artist of the year” at the UK BLUES AWARDS & the release of her debut album “wish her well” which topped blues charts around the world. Emma Wilson, the sensational British Rhythm & Blues singer was now reaching an international audience.

Notable recognition came from the usa when rock & roll royalty the phillips family signed Emma to their distribution company “select-o-hits” & invited Emma to record her new album “memphis calling” at ‘Sam Phillips recording’ memphis, using the newly installed original ‘stax’ board, with iconic memphian musicians

The album, produced by Emmy award winning Scott Bomar features the cream of Memphis musicians Charles Hodges (organ), Leroy Hodges (bass), Archie ‘hubbie’ Turner (piano) – all of whom were with the hi rhythm section – Steve Potts (drums) notably from Booker T and the MGs – add in Joe Restivo (guitar), Kirk Smothers (saxes) & Marc Franklin (trumpet) you get one incredible band. A guest appearance comes from the legendary Don Bryant who gifted his song “What kind of love ” to Emma and also joined her on vocals for the cut.

As well as being a beautiful singer emma, is a brilliant songwriter she co wrote with Gary Burr, Terry Reid & Scott Bomar for this record. Now touring with her fabulous uk band emma’s stunning skills as a vocalist and her dynamic stage presence will take you on a journey – you’ll hear emma’s great original music & echoes of classic soul & r’n’b

Emma’s voice is described as “magnificent” by Blues Matters’ magazine “drenched with soul & spirit & able to move mountains” by Walter Vanheuckelom at Concert Monkey.
“I want to represent a modern english woman, deeply influenced by the music of memphis, bringing her own britishness, making an album with a unique contemporary blues sound and I believe we have achieved this with “Memphis Calling” Emma Wilson
