DESCRIPTION:Our first Sunday Social event of 2024 brings you Yorkshire Gypsy Swing Collective: “A gypsy jazz supergroup with musicians from all around Yorkshire playing music inspired from legendary musicians Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli of the “Quintette du Hot Club de France”. The Collective remains in the spirit of Django and Stephane\, whilst pushing the genre of ‘gypsy jazz’ forward into a modern sphere. \nThe group consists of the traditional guitar (Lewis Kilvington and Martin Chung)\, double bass (James Munroe) and violin (Derek Magee) outfit with additional clarinet (Christine Pinkard) and were recently featured in Guitarist magazine about Django Reinhardt legacy. They recently sold out a headline slot at the Leyburn Jazz Festival in 2022. Expect some fast licks\, burning ballads and even some Latin inspired pieces.” \n \nThe Sunday Socials series is a monthly blues-inspired music and social event held on the last Sunday of each month from November to March. These are free events\, designed help you make the most of your weekend and enjoy some amazing live music – and still be home for bedtime! \nSunday Socials are brought to you in association with Huddersfield Blues Club\, Sunday Blues Train\, and Vocation Brewery. \nFREE EVENT!
