They’ve been gigging together of late and smashed it at a recent Duo series at the County in Huddersfield! \nSo we have a set from Mr Brazil and a set from Nadia (with Leo accompanying her). Hebble are an eclectic world folk band with an unusual set of instruments that play lively\, international traditional music in multiple languages. Hebble are Greek Bouzouki\, Bodhran\, and Cello + 3 vocals. We play English\, Czech\, Polish\, Irish\, Scottish\, and Appalachian folk music. We also have a handful of original songs inspired by Yorkshire myth and landscape. Upbeat and alternative with twists of jazz\, and plenty of three-part harmonies” \n\n\nMAGGIE GARRAT of MEWL music said: “From the very first tune\, they had the audience eating out of their hands. Every time they kicked off another song or tune\, the expectation of ‘ what now?’ was palpable. Not only are they superb musicians\, the warmth and humour of each personality shines through on stage. The Collective remains in the spirit of Django and Stephane\, whilst pushing the genre of ‘gypsy jazz’ forward into a modern sphere. \nThe group consists of the traditional guitar (Lewis Kilvington and Martin Chung)\, double bass (James Munroe) and violin (Derek Magee) outfit with additional clarinet (Christine Pinkard) and were recently featured in Guitarist magazine about Django Reinhardt legacy. They recently sold out a headline slot at the Leyburn Jazz Festival in 2022.
